Onyx Elephant Carving. This beautiful onyx elephant is hand carved and hand polished; it is a stunning example of fine craftsmanship. Before carving, the artist visualizes what creation would be most consistent with the banding on these specimens of genuine onyx and then the artist works with those bands to create a piece of art that highlights the natural banding. This elephant is carved from Pakistani genuine onyx, which is the highest grade of onyx on the planet. The 2 sides of the elephant demonstrate distinctively different banding and colors; thus, this striking elephant is reversible and will match various decors and moods. The elephant weighs 1.43 pounds and measures 5.5 inches long, 5 inches high, and 2 inches wide. And of course the trunk is upturned for good luck and auspicious fortune!
